No such thing as luck
We’ve all heard it said that, “You can’t control everything that happens in the world.” And while we believe that as a massive effort we can make the world a better place to live, it is still true that you alone cannot control everything that happens out there. What you CAN control are the decisions you make, the choices you choose, the path you travel, and the level of commitment to success in your own world. And just like the law of relativity states: What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.
There’s no such thing as LUCK. There are a lot of “cause and effects” playing out their duties in the great big universe, most of which are out of your control, and in some cases the odds appear to be in your favor. But if you “press your luck”, don’t do the work, put in the time, treat people right and so on, your “luck” will run out.
So what CAN you control?
- Your attitude
- How you treat others and yourself
- How you react and respond to things both pleasant and unpleasant
- Putting in the required effort to achieve X
- Your behavior
- Your actions
- Taking responsibility for things both good and bad
We love the quote, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity,” by Seneca. It’s SO true. You don’t get where you want to go by sitting around waiting for something good or exciting to happen. You prepare, make plans, set goals, chase said goals, learn how to learn more, and never quit. You do all these things and then some, and opportunity will seek you out, and you’ll be prepared to take full advantage.
We believe that two of the most important things you can do/be to attract what is misconstrued as good luck is: 1) Do good and 2) Be kind. In all aspects of life, if you are doing good (at your job, in your relationships, giving back, being a good human) and if you try to be as kind as you possibly can, good things will happen. And take the stairs or the metaphorical stairs if you will. Nothing fantastically wonderful ever came from the comfort zones of a lazy man’s load. Do the work. Go the extra smile. Luck will find you…. no doubt.
