 March Through the Change

It’s March! Get it?  The world around us is constantly changing, and we know that change is inevitable. Change can be exciting, but it can also be hard. Whatever way we look at change, it’s completely unavoidable.

We Can Only Do What We Can Do

But we can do a lot more than we think we can. We can plan a pretty picnic, but let’s not forget to pack an umbrella. And maybe a tent and a pillow and a Mary Poppins bag. It’s all about preparation, and if we can’t be prepared for what actually happens, at least we’ll be prepared to be unprepared.

Here are our favorite tips that we live by that encourage us to keep the change!

Keep Learning

We are so happy to  have discovered a new found love for learning and constantly educating ourselves. If we are open to change, we open ourselves up to far more than we could really ever see! Even if a change bomb is dropped and causes us to trip and pass out from the fumes, oftentimes it’s tripping and falling and failing that helps us become better, smarter and dream chasers!

Happiness Lies in Perspective

Change can force us to look at things with fresh eyes. When we look at things in a different way we learn new things, skills, viewpoints, and information that would have otherwise forever been buried. Happiness lies in our ability to shift our perspective!

Have Courage and Be Grateful

When we really try to open ourselves up and embrace change, we are less likely to be anxious or nervous or scared of the pending doom (or change). Thus… without even trying to be all gallant and brave, we become gallant, and brave. Think of change as the combo of sunlight and water that helps mother earth to grow and bloom and blossom. If we let it, it can enable us to have courage… AND BE GRATEFUL! There is always something to be grateful for.

No Topic is “Into Touch.

What a perfect opportunity to bring Ted Lasso into the conversation. Ted Lasso is ALL about change. For one thing, so much of what Ted and Coach Beard knew about the American version of football is completely different than England’s futbol. For instance, “out of bounds” is “into touch”. And if you’ve been saying “out of bounds” your entire life, that’s not an easy transition! But they take it in stride. Ted even figures out a way to work it into a sentence DAY ONE.

This is a 2 part-er. Because… no topic should be “into touch” or out of bounds in life. The things that make us uncomfortable or scared or a downright basketcase, are probably the topics we ought to dive a little deeper into.

Don’t Believe Everything You Think

We said it. We mean it. How can we roll with the punches of change if we are stuck in our heads with no way out? We are to blame for anything wrong in our own lives if we can’t be open enough to stop believing everything we think, believe, or “know”. Things change! Let’s stay on our toes.

Celebrate Growth!

Growth = change. No matter how much or how little, we should celebrate milestones and accomplishments. The ability to do this will lend to our acceptance and expentancy of change.

APPLY What You Learn to Your Life.

It is NEVER too late to live better, be nicer, and become the person you want to be! What we take the time to know and learn about matters not if we don’t apply it to our lives. We have to walk the walk, and apply the knowledge!

Keep the change.

Pocket change is sometimes gross. And can be heavy if you are carrying around a truck load of it. But it also comes in handy. It’s worth it’s weight in paper money. And it might just save your life. Find a penny, pick it up, all day long… you’ll be glad you did. It adds up and makes our lives better! (Metaphorically speaking 😉

xoxo
